Black Girls Do Science

Our Mission

Black Girls Do Science® focuses on introducing underrepresented girls to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) with workshops primarily led by women of color. By empowering and exposing girls to explore a path in STEAM, we are working to reduce its racial and gender gaps

Our Growth.

Black Girls Do Science has continually grown with participants every year, with over 115 participants. Black Girls Do Science has built great connections over the years and has collaborated with more than several different professional and student organizations in the Eastern Iowa community. With more than 20 students, faculty, staff and professional volunteers directly participating in the event, we have become tremendously successful in committing to the exporting of educational activities to young youth in the community. In order to keep this dedication a live we need your support.
